Stupidity Kills the Fag

When people say curiosity kills the cat, has anyone thought of why is it so? Would it be because there is danger in the shadow of maybe a mouse? Whatever it is, by the same token, stupidity kills the fag...

Mike and Ted are classmates. Ted, being the princecey one, is most of the time taken care of by Mike. The problem with Mike is, he thinks the whole world looks up to him since he's a self-proclaimed nice soul. Mike is queer and Ted accepts him as a nice mate, but he doesn't know what is on Ted's mind. Ted likes to think a lot keeping to himself, while Mike, as the saint who doesn't mind his own business, wants to find out what's going on.

Ted doesn't check himself in the mirror. He tends to criticise Mike for whatever he himself is doing as well. This made Mike very pissed, but judging on the fact that they have to live together for some time, Mike stood quietly on his stand, not taking any revenge, not voicing out anything that would jeopardize their relationship.

Throughout the days of living together, Mike has countlessly made it very clear to himself that he will not allow himself to be taken for granted. But time and again, Mike's heart softens whenever he sees Ted having trouble dealing with things due to insecurity. This made Mike very upset that he is not emotionally strong enough to reject and he feels that it is his responsibility to take care of Ted.

Once on a road trip, Ted fell asleep next to Mike on his shoulder. When Mike realised Ted doing that, he sat up to allow comfort for Ted's neck. Mike woke up later during the trip to find Ted's hand half-heartedly holding onto his. He tells himself not to think much about it since he feels that Ted isn't queer. He knows very well that it is an accident and it should not be taking much space in his mind. But the point was, Mike's heart relented again.

Then, Ted fell sick and Mike took care of him, making sure he is ok; checking if he has taken his medicine; arranging his sleeping position to make sure he sleeps well; covering his blanket to make sure he don't catch a cold. All these, Mike has done discreetly to make sure Ted doesn't find out. He did not want Ted to find out that he actually does care for Ted.

On the other hand, whenever Mike needs help, Ted either reluctantly offers to help or doesn't bother at all. Ted feels that he needs to be exclusive in order to attract the attention he deserves. Mike believes in doing unto others what he wants others to do unto him. Therefore, Mike holds on tightly to the perception that Ted does care for him and will reciprocate the care and concern being showed despite being proven wrong.

Mike and Ted carried on their live till one day when Mike became sickly and cannot leave home. He dialed Ted's number on his cell hoping that help would come. Ted never picked up the call and Mike finally understood. He regretted not listening to the advices of his other friends, and that was how stupidity killed that fag.
